Refunds and amendments on tickets for travel


If you change your mind or events prevent you from using your ticket for travel with SAR, then you may be entitled to a full or partial refund.
 
Making changes to your ticket (Business and Economy Class)
If you have a Business or Economy Class ticket for travel, and you wish to change it to travel on a different day or at a different time, downgrade your booking class (from Business to Economy) or change your departure station (applicable only on journeys on the same line of route, e.g. northbound or southbound) you can make amendments online, on our mobile app or at the ticket office at any SAR station with the following charges applied:  
 
Up to 7 days prior to departure     7 days to 30 minutes prior to departure    ​ Less than 30 minutes prior to departure
Free     10% of ticket fee charged No changes permitted

Multiple changes to the same ticket (e.g. changing the date of travel and departure station) will result in amendment charges being applied to each modification made. When changes are made to Advance tickets (purchased online or on app) at the station, the updated ticket will be sold at the Anytime (highest available) ticket price.

Changes to seat number (within the same class of travel), and to passenger names* can be made online, on our app, by calling 920000329 or at the ticket office at any SAR station with no fees applied up until 30 minutes prior to the train departure.

*All passenger names must be identical to the ID used within the booking process.

Upgrades can be made at any time up to 30 minutes in advance of the train departure time (subject to available space in the selected class).  Customers will be charged the difference in fare between the Economy and Business Class ticket price only.
 
 

Making changes to your ticket (Private Cabins)
If you have a Private Cabin booking on one of our Night Train services, and you wish to change it to travel on a different day you can make an amendment at the ticket office at any SAR station with the following charges applied:
 
Up to 7 days prior to departure 7 days to 4 hours prior to the train departure from its origin station (Riyadh or Jauf) Less than 4 hours prior to departure
Free     10% of cabin fee charged No changes permitted
 
Changes to the travel date for Private Cabins apply to the cabin (up to 4 passengers), and not to individual passengers.
No changes are permitted between travel classes for Private Cabin bookings.

Changes to bed numbers (within the same cabin), changes to the cabin number within the same carriage (Private Cabin – Family or Private Cabin – Male), changes to passenger names*, and adding** or removing passengers from the cabin can be made by calling 920000329 or at the ticket office at any SAR station with no fees applied up until 4 hours prior to the train departure from its origin station (Riyadh or Jauf).

*All passenger names must be identical to the ID used within the booking process.
**Maximum four passengers per Private Cabin inclusive of children and infants.
 
 

Cancelling your ticket (Business and Economy Class)
If you change your mind and you wish to cancel your Business or Economy Class ticket, you can do so online, on our mobile app or at the ticket office at any SAR station with the following charges applied:  
 
Up to 7 days prior to departure     7 days to 48 hours prior to departure     48 hours to 30 minutes prior to departure
10% of ticket fee charged 50% of ticket fee charged No refunds permitted 
 
 

Cancelling your ticket (Private Cabins)
If you change your mind and you wish to cancel your Private Cabin booking on one of our Night Train services, you can do so at the ticket office at any SAR station with the following charges applied:
 
Up to 7 days prior to departure     7 days to 48 hours prior to departure 48 hours to 4 hours prior to the train departure from its origin station (Riyadh or Jauf)
10% of cabin fee charged 50% of cabin fee charged No refunds permitted 

Cancellations to individual passengers within your Private Cabin can be made by calling 920000329 or at the ticket office at any SAR station with no fees applied up until 4 hours prior to the train departure from its origin station (Riyadh or Jauf).
 
 
 
Cancellations and changes to roundtrip tickets
If you have a roundtrip ticket and wish to make an amendment or cancellation to one leg of your journey, the above charges will only apply to the leg of your journey that is being modified or cancelled.

If both legs of a roundtrip are being modified or cancelled then the above charges will apply to the total price of the return ticket.
 
 
 
Refund payment methods
When making a refund we will use the original form of payment you used.
 
  •  If you used a credit or debit card to buy your ticket we will ask your card issuer to make a refund within 7 working days. The card issuer will refund you the appropriate amount under the terms of the card agreement.  Please note your refund may not show up on your card statement immediately.
  • Cash transactions will be refunded in cash, however if you paid with cash and your refunded amount included Halalas you will be refunded via bank transfer.
  • If you paid for your ticket via SADAD or Point of Sale (POS) we will refund you via bank transfer.
 
 
 
National Day Offer Cancellation & Refunds
If the outbound ticket (non-discounted) of the round trip is cancelled alone, in addition to the standard cancellation fees, customers must pay the difference between the discounted return ticket and a full price ticket to maintain the single return leg of their journey.  If the return (discounted ticket) of the round trip is cancelled, the cancellation fees will apply based upon a full price ticket.

If the return (discounted ticket) of the round trip is amended, the amendment fees will apply based upon a full price ticket.  Standard amendment fees will apply to all changes made to the outbound ticket (non-discounted).  All amended tickets will be sold at the non-discounted price.

Cancellation and amendments to tickets cannot be made via the mobile application.
